Jackie Marshall
The first time I saw Jackie Marshall it was supporting Missy Higgins. I wasn't sure if I liked her, maybe because her music felt weird in The Tivoli. I saw her again the other night as part of "Lock Up Your Sons" and I knew that I did like her. She is a lady with a guitar or two, one of them is called Bessie. She is a story teller in a way that is not often seen. She has a voice that stops you in your seat, it is raw, it is emotive, it is rough. Country without the twang and songs about dead dogs. Folk without the _______.
She also has this rather cool/interesting method of playing guitar where she sort of moves her hand in circles over the strings.
